Private Spa Stay in the Kent Downs

The Art of Longevity

The practice of presence

Balance and Yoga. The essence of our name, and a way of being.

Balance is not perfection, but a state we return to. Yoga is not exercise, but inhabiting the body fully. They form the art of feeling well. Not just for today. For the long run.

At Balancyoga House, everything is arranged around this intention: the environment, the rhythm, the food, the practices.

You depart with more than memories. You leave clearer, stronger, and more yourself.

Stronger through stillness

A house with an indoor koi pond

The Living Art of Koi

One of the most distinctive features of Balancyoga House is its indoor koi pond.

The pond has been here for more than twenty years.
The koi have quietly lived through several owners and renovations of the house — some now growing beyond 70 cm. Today it is home to around sixty koi and goldfish.

Koi can live for decades — thirty, fifty, sometimes more than a hundred years. The oldest known, Hanako, lived to 226. Their secret is a quiet life: clean water, a stable environment, and as little relocation as possible throughout their lives.

We tend the water carefully, because for them it is everything — their air, their home, their world. Less intervention — more life.

In Japan, simply observing Koi is considered a calming ritual — one that slows the breath and quiets the mind. Watching them is already a kind of therapy. You are welcome to pause, observe, and simply be.

“I will definitely be returning. Perfect gem.”

The breakfast was exceptional. Everything was very carefully thought out. All food and drink served was of high quality standards. Plenty of options. The breakfast would exceed a 5 star hotel standard

We didn't build a retreat

We built a home — the one we had always longed for.

Years of travelling taught us that considered living, restoration and a slower rhythm are not tied to geography. They are choices.

So we chose to bring that way of living here — to England.

Balancyoga House carries that intention:
an environment shaped for longevity, movement for strength, rest for recovery.

Today, its doors are open to those who value the same.

You are always welcome here.

With care,

Inna & Max
